Trowbridge Participates in AFCEA WiT Panel Discussion

McLean, VA, March 27, 2017 –Trowbridge & Trowbridge, LLC was represented on a recent panel for Women in Technology (WiT) at an AFCEA Atlanta, Women’s Appreciation Event on March 23.  The principle focus of the event discussions was the unique challenges women face in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Bianca Berrios, Trowbridge Director of Civilian Operations, participated on the panel during an AFCEA Atlanta chapter luncheon, in Marietta at Dobbins Air Reserve Base.

Berrios said, “It was a pleasure to contribute to this important and on-going dialogue, and in some small way acknowledge the contributions of women in the history of STEM, by discussing the future of women in these fields.” Further topics included whether or not there is still a glass ceiling in the technology industry, how to interest young women in STEM, and the value of mentorship.

Trowbridge CEO and President, Karen Trowbridge said, “The panel and topics provided a nice way for us to honor the numerous contributions and advancements of women in STEM during Women’s History Month.” Other panel participants included Dr. Alexa Harter, Director CTISL, GTRI; Jill Gostin, Deputy Director of ICL, GTRI; and Major Andrea Walthour, Commander, 94th Communications Squadron at Dobbins ARB.
